ASBESTOR REMOVAL AT THE PUBLIC HEALTH FACILITIES

The Directorate of Public Health Services,  Ministry of Health with funding from the World Bank and in collaboration with the NEA has embarked on the removal of Asbestors from all of its Public Health Facilitues 

Clinical Waste treatment center

The Ministry of Health through the Directorate of Public Health Services together with the Biometric Unit of the National Public Health Laboratory is taking a proactive step by operationalizing the state-of-the-art Ecosteryl 250 series at Farato to ensure the safe treatment of infectious and pharmaceutical waste to reduce the risk of onfection thereby promoting public health.

The team continue on the treatment of clinical waste from health facilities wihtin Regional Health Directorate Region 1and Western Health Regions.

A backing of over 1000kg of clinical waste collected from various health facilities were treated so far to ensure our health facilities are safe from the hazard of improper waste management.

The Ministry has tqo of these incinerators: Ecosteryl 250 series located at Farato Clinical Waste Treatment Center and Ecosteryl 75 series at EFSTH to reduce the risks associated with hazardous clinical waste, preventing infectious, and promoting a healthier society.

The Minstry of HEalth through the Directorate pf Public Health Services encourages the support of all health facilities to strengthen proper waste segregation fopr effective collection and treatment of clinical waste.
